As the Head of AWS-Managed Services at Koan, I am part of a team delivering cloud solutions. My role consists of technical aptitude with strategic leadership to steer the ship, ensuring exceptional delivery and client success. As a Network Operations Centre Engineer at One, I was responsible for monitoring Vodafone NZ's networks on a 24x7, 365-day basis, responding to incidents involving network outages and performance issues. I specialised in event and incident management, prioritising incidents based on business impact while working closely with vendor support teams to resolve complex network issues. My role involved troubleshooting equipment from Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Huawei, performing root cause analysis.
In my role as Incident Manager for Enterprise, Government, and Wholesale clients, I managed high-priority incidents (P1/P2) across a nationwide network of 10,000+ devices. I coordinated with multiple technical teams, reported to Service Delivery Managers, and liaised directly with New Zealand's largest government clients. I worked across a broad range of technologies and resolved critical network incidents involving routing, switching, fibre cuts, and hardware replacements, collaborating closely with vendors to ensure reliable service from data centres to customer sites.
